Hello Everyone,
I just finished a rant about companies exploiting ignorance about SEO/SEM and websites. If you want to read the whole rant, go ahead.
The short version is that I’ve decided to stop charging for listings here. I created this directory as a way to increase the web presence of local businesses in a down economy. I priced the directory listings reasonably, around $100 per year, to keep the costs down for everyone. There’s very little cost involved in running this directory, but those low prices covered my costs and put a little cash in my account to cover any unexpected bills.
But, as you read in the other rant, it’s more important to me that businesses understand how SEO/SEM and directories work. It’s also important that businesses understand some of the SEO myths.
If you’re a paying customer, I’m refunding your payment for the upgraded listing. No pro-rating, no catches. If you have a free listing, then you can log in and edit the listing to take advantage of the new listing features.
Finally, if you’re thinking of splashing out $1000 for a webpage on someone else’s domain, give me a call. I’m confident we can build you a quality site for about the same price, but it’ll be yours, hosted on your own site, and you won’t have to pay every month for the rest of your life.
